Four years have passed already since the unforgettable “homecoming” of the Olympic Games to Athens in 2004. This month, China is hosting the Games of the XXIX Olympiad from August 8 to August 24 and earlier this year 32 members of the Music Dance Group of Paros travelled to China to participate in the pre-Olympic events.

The theme of the Naxos Festival programme for 2008 organized by the AEON Cultural Non-Profit Organization, is the relationship between art and madness. All festival events are held at the Bazeos Tower, a 17th century monument near to Sangri in the hinterland of Naxos.

NOP athlete Polyxeni Sarri’s most recent achievement is in the Pan-European Optimist Competition at Lake Garda in Northern Italy, where, on her first trip abroad, she made it to 6th place in the women’s category and first among the Greek participants. And the NOP team gave an outstanding performance at the Pan-Hellenic Optimist Championship held in Aegina from 19-24 June.
